THE Cabinet meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav, approved financial proposals worth more than Rs 13,790 crore on Tuesday. The decisions covered irrigation, sports, power, judicial administration, taxation and strengthening of Government offices. The Cabinet approved continuation of three major irrigation projects from April 1, 2026, to March 31, 2031. These include Rs 4,197.58 crore for the JawadNeemuch Pressurised Micro Irrigation Project, Rs 262.63 crore for Suthalia and Rs 507.23 crore for the Parvati-Rinsi project in Rajgarh. Over 88,000 hectares targeted:The three projects together are expected to develop irrigation potential across 88,000 hectares. Suthalia will cover 40,000 hectares and Parvati-Rinsi 48,000 hectares. The Jawad-Neemuch project will use pressurised micro-irrigation to improve water efficiency and agricultural productivity. 2,800 MW thermal power approved: The Cabinet approved procurement of 2,800 MW of thermal power through competitive bidding. The power will be sourced from existing, under-construction and proposed greenfield and brownfield thermal power projects in Madhya Pradesh. Sports complexes in 140 seats: An in-principle approval of Rs 962.50 crore was given for sports complexes in 140 Assembly constituencies. The facilities will be named Chief Minister Sports Complexes. Permanent helipads will also be developed at the main grounds to facilitate helicopter movement under the PM Shri scheme.

 

Rs 4,000 crore for judiciary: The Cabinet approved financial continuity of more than Rs 4,000 crore for High Court, family courts, gram nyayalayas and Madhya Pradesh Legal Aid and Legal Advice Board for the 16th Finance Commission period. Funds for courts and legal aid: The Gram Nyayalaya scheme received Rs 554.61 crore, while Rs 524 crore was approved for the State legal aid board. Another Rs 1,000 crore was sanctioned for family courts, while Rs 2,015.60 crore was approved for the High Court (Charged) scheme. Rs 969.87 crore for tax schemes: Six Commercial Tax Department schemes were approved for continuation from 2026-27 to 2030-31 at a total cost of Rs 969.87 crore. The schemes cover e-registration, stamp-related expenses, departmental assets, landrecord modernisation and construction or expansion of registration offices. New posts at dental college: The Cabinet approved 13 new teaching posts at Government Dental College, Indore, including one professor, 10 associate professors and two assistant professors. The move is linked to increasing BDS seats from 63 to 100 and MDS seats from 35 to 44. New PHE offices approved: New Public Health Engineering Department offices will be established in Maihar and Pandhurna, while a sub-divisional office will be set up in Chitrangi, Singrauli. The Cabinet approved 13 permanent posts across the three offices and additional outsourced support staff.
