Nav Yuvak Ganeshotsav Mandal, widely popular for its deity Hudkeshwar Cha Raja in Neelkanth Nagar, has set up an exquisite and spiritually resonant replica of an ancient Shiv temple for this year’s Ganeshotsav celebrations. Drawing inspiration from its locality’s name, Neelkanth, one of the sacred names of Lord Shiva. The organisers have designed a magnificent visual confluence of Lord Shiva, Lord Ganesha, and eternal Shiv Tatva. For the past 20 years, the mandal established in year 2006 is working to replicate unique themes each year. This year, the concept originated from the committee members pilgrimage across the country’s 12 Jyotirlingas.

 

Inspired by the divine architectural heritage of these holy shrines, the mandal resolved to construct a temple replica that directly harmonises with the cultural identity of Neelkanth Nagar. Preparations commenced nearly two to three months in advance, with volunteers working collectively to craft every pillar, carving, and sanctum detail to offer devotees an authentic, serene temple experience. Led by Mandal President Shubham Raut, the core executive committee includes office-bearers Akshay Shingnapure, Rishikesh Pujatwar, Rupesh Randive, Ajinkya Khandale, Akshay Bhende, and Aditya Rasegaovkar.

 

Organisers welcomed Lord Ganesha with the rhythmic beats of traditional dhol-tasha, the mandal has strictly shunned noisy DJ sound systems to maintain a peaceful, devotional ambience throughout the festival. Beyond grand festivities, the mandal actively engages in community service and social welfare initiatives year-round. The volunteers routinely organise voluntary blood donation drives, public cleanliness campaigns, and civic awareness programmes aimed at youth empowerment and environmental protection. With thousands of devotees flocking daily to seek blessings, the mandal has already set its sights forward, announcing plans to design an elaborate tableau inspired by the sacred Jagannath Puri temple for the upcoming festive year.
