CHIEF Minister Dr Mohan Yadav released the Salient Power Statistics 2026, a comprehensive compilation of key information and latest data on Madhya Pradesh’s power sector, during the All India DISCOM Association Conference. Principal Secretary, Energy, Manish Singh, Energy Secretary and Managing Director of MP Power Management Company Vishesh Garhpale, Director General, All India DISCOM Association Alok Kumar and senior power engineers and experts from across the country were present on the occasion. The 12-page publication, containing the latest figures on power generation, availability, transmission and distribution, has been prepared by the State Planning Cell of MP Power Management Company. The Salient Power Statistics 2026 includes data on major achievements recorded by the State’s power sector during 2025- 26, along with a comparative analysis of figures for financial years 2024-25 and 2025-26.

 

According to the publication, Madhya Pradesh has more than 1.32 crore domestic electricity consumers, while per capita electricity consumption has increased to 1,393 kWh. The State’s available power generation capacity increased to 26,023 MW during 2025-26. The publication presents data on power generation, availability, transmission and distribution through tables, charts, graphs and maps. It highlights the growth in the State’s power generation capacity, electricity supplied, peak demand, number of consumers, electricity consumption by different categories of consumers, development of transmission and distribution systems, and per capita electricity consumption. The achievements and work carried out by the State’s three power distribution companies Poorva, Madhya and Paschim DISCOMs have also been presented separately. A key feature of Salient Power Statistics 2026 is the Power Map of Madhya Pradesh, which provides a visual representation of the State’s power infrastructure and related information.
