THE Bharatiya Janata Party has assigned organisational responsibilities in other States to two leaders from Chhattisgarh. Pathalgaon MLA Gomti Sai has been appointed co-in-charge for Gujarat, while former Akaltara MLA Saurabh Singh has been named co-in-charge for Jharkhand. According to the organisational appointments announced by the BJP, Tarun Chugh will serve as the in-charge for Gujarat, with Gomti Sai and Ajay Mahawar appointed as coin-charges. In J h a r k h a n d , Gajendra Patel has been appointed incharge, while Saurabh Singh and Nivedita Singh of Bihar have been given charge as co-in-charges. Gomti Sai has held several organisational and elected positions during her political career. She served as a member of the Jashpur D i s t r i c t Panchayat from 2005 to 2010 and as general secretary of the Jashpur District Yuva Morcha from 2006 to 2008. She was Jashpur BJP Mandal president from 2008 to 2010. From 2010 to 2015, Sai served as a member of the Farsabahar Janpad Panchayat and subsequently served as president of the Jashpur District Panchayat from 2015 to 2019.

 

She was elected to the Lok Sabha from Raigarh in 2019 and served as an MP until 2023. In the 2023 Assembly elections, she won the Pathalgaon seat on a BJP ticket and became an MLA. Her appointment as Gujarat co-in-charge gives her an organisational responsibility outside Chhattisgarh. Saurabh Singh, the former MLA from Akaltara in JanjgirChampa district, also has experience in electoral and organisational politics. He began his political career with the Bahujan Samaj Party and was elected MLA for the first time in 2008. He later joined the BJP and won the Akaltara Assembly seat in 2018, returning to the Legislative Assembly for a second term. He was defeated in the 2023 Assembly elections. Singh has also appeared for the UPSC Civil Services Examination interview twice, in 1998 and 1999. The BJP has now entrusted him with the responsibility of co-in-charge for Jharkhand as part of its latest organisational appointments.
