THEBhopal district administration and Police Department have finalised extensive security arrangements across the State capital ahead of the Ganesh idol immersions scheduled for Anant Chaturdashi on Friday. With thousands of devotees expected to throng the city’s water bodies from the early hours of Friday, authorities have placed key immersion sites, including Khatlapura Ghat, Prempura Ghat, and Kamala Park Ghat, under strict surveillance to ensure a safe and smooth event. To manage the massive influx of processions and prevent any untoward incidents, heavy police presence has been deployed alongside robust barricading at all major ghats. Separate entry and exit corridors have been created to regulate pedestrian movement, streamline crowd flow, and prevent overcrowding near the water’s edge. Officials confirmed that idol immersions will strictly take place within designated security cordons supervised by trained personnel.

 

“Co-ordination between the police, municipal teams, and administrative officers is paramount to maintaining order,” stated a senior official. “Surveillance has been heightened across all primary routes, and continuous monitoring will remain in effect through the night until the final immersions are completed.” Complementing the security set-up, the Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) has stationed dedicated ground teams at all designated locations to oversee civic amenities, high-mast illumination, and emergency response facilities. BMC workers will remain on-site throughout the day and into the night to maintain sanitation and conduct immediate post-immersion cleanup drives along the ghats. Traffic authorities and civic officials have issued an appeal to public committees and devotees to follow designated procession routes and cooperate with ground personnel. With immersions expected to continue late into the night, multi-agency command posts at the ghats will remain active to ensure public safety throughout the day’s festivities.
