RAIPUR :
CHHATTISGARH has
achieved a remarkable
national-level milestone in
the ‘Bhu-Gram’ (Stage-III)
campaign, which is
being implemented for the
transparent monitoring and
digitisation of rural assets
under the Viksit BharatGuarantee for Rozgar &
Ajeevika Mission- Gramin
(VB G RAM G).
Despite challenges such
as the rugged terrain of
remote forest regions
and limited network
connectivity, Chhattisgarh has successfully completed the
geo-tagging of 99.34 percent of its assets. According to a
report released by the Union Ministry of Rural Development
covering the period up to September 24, 2026, geo-tagging
has been completed for a record 1,182,480 out of the total
1,190,327 assets created in Chhattisgarh.
Chhattisgarh has performed significantly better than the
national average in terms of geo-tagging. Out of a total of
32,391,318 assets created across the country, 30,149,345
have been geo-tagged, resulting in a national average of
93.08 percent. By achieving a figure of 99.34 percent,
Chhattisgarh has solidified its position among the top States
in the country. The task of geo-tagging was particularly complex in remote forest tracts, hilly regions, and areas with
poor network connectivity, especially within the Bastar and
Surguja divisions. Nevertheless, this success was achieved
through the coordination of field staff, Panchayat representatives, and technical personnel. GIS mapping under
the ‘Bhu-Gram’ initiative is bolstering transparency and
real-time monitoring in rural development activities.
