THE Under-17 hockey team of Dinanath High School and Junior College,Dhantoli, emerged divisional champions of Nehru Cup Hockey Tournament. The team displayed brilliant performance throughout the tournament, remaining unbeaten to emerge winners and qualify for the State meet. Road to victorywas laid with a quarter final win over Wardha by 5-0margin. Nitesh Gupta score dabrace in the 6th and 12 th minutes, Yash Bamnele scored in the 20th minute and Bhavesh Palaskar scored twicein the 25th and 28th minutes. In the semis,Dinanath continued their winning streak, defeating Chandrapur 3-0.

 

Star striker Gupta scored abrilliant hat-trickin the5th,10thand15th minutes.Inthe thrilling final, Dinanath defeated Hitkarini Junior College,Armori2-0. Bamnele opened the scoring in the 15th minute and Gupta sealed the victorywith adecisivesecond goal. The winning team will now represent the division at the State-Level Tournament to be held at Ahilya Nagar from September 27 to 30. School management has extended heartiest congratulations to all Under-17 players for their outstanding performance, teamwork, determination and sporting spirit.
