THE Jabalpur Municipal Corporation (JMC) has made extensive arrangements at major idol immersion sites in the city ahead of the Anant Chaturdashi,on September 25. The arrangements are ensured for the safety, cleanliness and convenience of devotees. Municipal Commissioner Ramprakash Ahirwar inspected major immersion sites, including Bhatouli, Tilwara and Gokalpur ghats, along with officials. He reviewed the arrangements and issued necessary directions to ensure a smooth and safe immersion process. Special safety measures have been planned at areas with deep water. Adequate numbers of Home Guards and trained divers are being deployed. Life jackets will also be made available at the sites to deal with any emergency.

 

The civic body has directed officials to ensure uninterrupted lighting at the immersion sites and approach roads. Continuous cleanliness drives will also be carried out so that devotees do not face inconvenience. The condition of artificial immersion ponds was also reviewed. The JMC administration has appealed to citizens and Ganesh Samities to use these ponds to help prevent pollution of rivers and other water sources. Arrangements for parking and smooth traffic movement are being made in co-ordination with the police and traffic departments. The Municipal Commissioner directed officers and employees to remain deployed in the field with full alertness until the immersion festivities are completed. The civic body has also stressed regular monitoring of cleanliness, lighting, safety and traffic arrangements at all major immersion points.
