Women’s team coach Neeta Dadwe from Nagpur helps the nation defend Asian Games crown SHE had promised and she delivered. Prior to leaving for the Asian Games in Japan, Nagpur’s Neeta Dadwe, head coach of the Indian women’s team, sounded confident of the nation retaining the glory. And, on Saturday, her confidence and promise materialised. Indian women (also men) defended their golds. “I am very proud of the girls that they won the gold,” said Neeta, who was also coach of the gold medal-winning team at the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon,

 

South Korea. “There were some anxious moments in the final (against Iran) but with our experience came in handy and we triumphed,” she added. The Arjuna Award winner Neeta, a former kabaddi player of Maratha Lancers, is currently working as the Chief Office Superintendent of South Central Railway in Hyderabad. Apart from the Arjuna, Neeta was also bestowed upon with Shiv Chhatrapati Award (1996), Rail Khel Ratna Award (1998), Railway GM Award (1994, 1998), Rail Khelshree Award (2000). She played for Indian Railways women’s team for 14 years.
