“The transformational role of AI is still in its exploration phase and 80 per cent of the investments made by corporates are yet to see desired returns on investment” said Ganesh Lakshminarayanan, MD & CEO, TATA Communications Ltd, at the graduation day function at SASTRA Deemed University, Thanjavur. He also launched the Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Cybersecurity and Digital Forensics jointly established at cost of Rs 3.5 crore by SASTRA & Tata Communications.

 

This CoE is a research and capacity building facility to create focussed manpower capable of handling various levels of cyber vulnerabilities. Prince Jayakumar, EVP & Global Head of Human Resources at HCL Technologies, in another graduation day address stressed on the role of evolutionary talent and the need to engage AI with a humanistic touch. Both corporate leaders gave away degrees to over 1000 School of Computing graduates of SASTRA University. Dr S Vaidhyasubramaniam, Vice-Chancellor of SASTRA presided and welcomed the gathering.
