The City Police registered cases against three persons for violating restrictions on sound systems and laser beams during the Ganpati immersion procession. In the first incident, Ajni Police found a DJ system being played without permission in Hanuman Nagar around 11.15 pm on Saturday. The area falls in the silence zone near the Medical Hospital. PSI Shaliram Shende reached the spot after receiving information and asked the operators to produce the required permit. The operators allegedly failed to produce one.

 

Police registered a case against Mangesh Vasudev Raut, a resident of New Shankar Nagar, and Nikhil Chandrashekhar Wadgaonkar, a resident of Golibar Chowk. In another incident, Mankapur police took action near the Vitthal-Rukmini Temple in Geeta Nagar, Zingabai Takli, on Sunday evening. Police found Mukesh Khushalchand Ingle (21) allegedly playing Dolby sound at a very high volume from a goods carrier (MH-31/FC-3555). Laser beams were also being used from the vehicle during the procession. Police checked the sound level with a noise level meter. After finding violations, they registered a case against Ingle under relevant sections of law. Police said the action was part of the crackdown on violations during the Ganesh immersion processions.
