Rs 1809 cr steel plant to come up in Chandrapur

Sri Raj Iron & Steel signs MoU with Maharashtra Govt 
 
A major industrial investment of Rs 1,809 crore is set to come to Chandrapur district with Sri Raj Iron & Steel Products Private Limited, Hyderabad, proposing to establish an integrated steel plant at Gondpipri in Chandrapur district The memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the proposed investment was signed between Sri Raj Iron & Steel Products Private Limited and the Government of Maharashtra on Monday at Mantralaya, Mumbai. The investment has been facilitated by the Association for Industrial Development (AID) as part of its efforts to promote industrial development and attract investments to Vidarbha.
 
The proposed project is expected to generate around 1,200 direct employment opportunities. As per the MoU, the project is proposed to commence during 2029–30. Under the MoU, the Government of Maharashtra will facilitate the company in obtaining necessary permissions, registrations, approvals, clearances and fiscal incentives from the concerned departments, subject to the prevailing policies, rules and regulations of the State Government. The MoU was signed in the presence of Dr P Anbalagan, Principal Secretary, Industries, Government of Maharashtra; Kishan Agrawal, Director, Sri Raj Iron & Steel Products Pvt. Ltd.; Anuraag Agrawal, Director, Sri Raj Iron & Steel Products Pvt. Ltd.; Dr Kapil Chandrayan, CEO, Association for Industrial Development (AID); and Madhusudan Roongta, President, MIDC Industries Association, Chandrapur. The proposed investment is expected to strengthen Chandrapur’s industrial ecosystem and provide further impetus to the region’s steel and manufacturing sector. AID has been working to facilitate industrial investments in Vidarbha by engaging with prospective investors, connecting them with relevant government authorities and extending facilitation support for project establishment and expansion. The Sri Raj Iron & Steel investment marks another significant milestone in these efforts to attract new industries and investments to the region.
