The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Vidarbha Zone successfully organised the 4th Edition of the CII Vidarbha IT Conclave 2026 recently at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Nagpur. Centered around the theme “Nagpur: Building a Trusted Cyber Security Ecosystem for Global Innovation & Investment,” the conclave brought together key policymakers, industry leaders, and academic experts to deliberate on positioning Nagpur as India’s next major digital frontier. A major highlight of the conclave was the landmark signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the Nagpur Metropolitan Region Development Authority (NMRDA) for the development of ‘Naveen Nagpur’.

 

The MoU was executed and signed by Amitabh Sinha, Chairman, CII Vidarbha Zone, and Sanjay Meena, Metropolitan Commissioner, NMRDA & Chairman, Nagpur Improvement Trust (NIT). Bhuvaneshwari S, Commissioner of Electronics, Information Technology and AI, Government of Maharashtra, graced the occasion as the chief guest. Dr Prasanna Deshpande, Convenor, Confederation of Indian Industry Vidarbha Zone IT & ITES Forum and Enterprise Architect at TCS, set the theme for the conclave, outlining the imperative of building trusted security networks to support global innovation pipelines. Dr Bhimaraya Metri, Director, IIM Nagpur, delivered a special address focusing on the strong synergy required between industry academia and administrative bodies to supply top-tier talent for the expanding IT sectors. Satyendra Kumar, Vice Chairman, CII Vidarbha Zonal Council proposed teh formal vote of thanks.
