Business Reporter :
A high-level investor consultation at the MIDC Industries Association (MIA), Hingna, brought together industrialists and representatives of two Delhi-based think tanks to discuss long-pending infrastructure, taxation, land and regulatory issues affecting industries in the Hingna MIDC area. The concerns raised during the consultation will be consolidated and taken up with the District Collector, Nagpur, and concerned State authorities for appropriate action.
The consultation was jointly organised by the NFPRC Foundation, represented by Aniket Bhavthankar and Aditya Bharadwaj, and the Foundation for Economic Development (FED), represented by Divyesh Patil. The two organisations are working with State Governments and stakeholders to identify barriers to doing business and improve the business environment.
Industrialists from the Hingna MIDC area highlighted long-pending concerns relating to infrastructure, land, taxation, labour, environmental regulations and essential industrial facilities.
Key concerns included local body taxation on industrial properties within MIDC areas, availability of land for expansion of existing units, stamp duty and other tax-related provisions affecting industrial land.
MIA also highlighted the urgent need for internal road repairs and upgradation, improved storm-water drainage and prevention of waterlogging, street lighting, proper garbage and waste disposal, an adequate sewage network, dedicated truck parking, early resolution of the CETP project and an ESIC hospital or adequate medical facility for workers. Various issues relating to MPCB and labour regulations were also discussed.
P Mohan, President, MIDC Industries Association, said, “Hingna is an important industrial centre of Nagpur, and resolving its infrastructure and regulatory issues is essential for sustained industrial growth. We welcome this consultation and look forward to concrete decisions, clear timelines and coordinated action so that long-pending issues translate into visible improvements on the ground.”
The consultation forms part of a wider investor outreach programme in Nagpur, with further interactions planned with industry associations across the district. The objective is to convert industry feedback into time-bound and actionable measures to improve industrial infrastructure, facilitate investment and strengthen the business environment.
P Mohan, Ganesh JaiswalAjay Agrawal, K K Daga, Arun Lanjewar, Charan Singh Mathuria, Rakesh Gupta and Manish Malpani were also present on the occasion.
