CITY’Srising paddler Ikshika Umate clinched the Under-19 girls table tennis title at the 4th MaharashtraState Ranking Table Tennis Tournament which was organised by Wardha District Amateur Table Tennis Association in Wardha. In the U-19 girls singles final, Ikshika rallied to beat Swara Karmarkar of Nashik 6-11, 11-7, 11-8, 11-5, 11-7 to clinch the crown.

 

Earlier in the semis,Ikshikadefeated Sukrati Sharma ofThane 11-4, 14-12, 7-11, 11-5whileSwaraKarmarkar (Nashik) beat Anvi Gupte (Thane) 11-7, 11-1, 11-9. Inthein quarters,Ikshikagot thebetter ofUrviChuriofThane 12-14, 7-11, 11-8, 11-4, 11-9. Ikshika is studying Commerce in Class XII at NIOS Pune and practices at Apex Sports Academy under the guidance of coach UpendraMule.
