NAGPUR’S young badminton talent Aditya Mayur Yaul has earned a place in the Indian badminton junior team for Badminton Asia U-15 and U-17 Junior Championships-2026, scheduled to be held in Chengdu, China, from September 8 to 13.
Yaul, born on April 13, 2012, has been officially selected as a player in the Indian junior squad announced by the Badminton Association of India (BAI).
His selection is a significant achievement for Nagpur and reflects the growing strength of the city’s badminton talent at the international level. The Indian contingent comprises 31 players, along with coaches and support staff, who will represent the country at the prestigious continental junior championship. Aditya’s selection is a proud moment for Nagpur badminton, as he becomes part of India’s young badminton contingent competing against the best junior players from across Asia.
His journey to the international stage is expected to inspire many upcoming young shuttlers from the city and Vidarbha region. Yaul, who is ranked 13 in Under-15 boys singles and 44th in Under-17, had reached the semis of the U-15 boys singles at the all India Sub-Junior Ranking Badminton Tournament held in Bengaluru in July earlier this year, A bronze medal in the competition helped him secure a place in the Indian badminton team. The Badminton Asia U-15 and U-17 Junior Championships 2026 will provide India’s emerging badminton stars with an important platform to gain international exposure and compete at the highest level of junior badminton in Asia.
