THE Institute of Indian Foundrymen (IIF), Nagpur Chapter recently celebrated the 77th National Foundry Day with great enthusiasm and participation at Hotel Airport Centre Point. The event brought together foundry professionals, industry leaders, and their family members for an evening dedicated to knowledge sharing, networking, and community engagement. The celebration was organised under the leadership of the chapter office bearers including Nikhil Sharma, Chairman, Irfan Makki, Vice Chairman, Taha Fedvi, Secretary and Anush Narnavare, Treasurer. The occasion was graced by ACP Shiv Prasad Parve, Cyber Cell, Maharashtra Police, as the chief guest. Aligning with the growing importance of digital security in today’s interconnected world, the theme of this year’s National Foundry Day focused on ‘Cybercrime Awareness and Digital Safety’.

 

Addressing the gathering, ACP Shiv Prasad Parve delivered a highly informative and engaging session on the rapidly evolving landscape of cybercrime. He highlighted how cyber criminals are increasingly targeting individuals through fraudulent phone calls, phishing emails, fake investment schemes, social media scams, digital arrest frauds, OTP sharing frauds, QR code scams, and online banking frauds. He emphasised that even educated and technology-savvy individuals can become victims if they fail to exercise caution. In his address, Chairman Nikhil Sharma highlighted the importance of strengthening member engagement, promoting industry development, and enhancing the activities of the Nagpur Chapter. Speaking on the occasion, Immediate Past President Sushil Sharma shared important updates regarding the chapter’s progress , future initiatives, technical programs, skill development activities, member-benefit schemes, and strengthening chapter infrastructure to better serve the foundry fraternity.
