Inter-College Youth Festival-2019 begins with a bang

“Youths are pride of our nation. They possess great passion and attentiveness to do any work with perfection and such programmes help hone their skills,” said Vice-Chancellor of Rani Durgavati University, Professor Kapil Deo Mishra, while addressing inaugural ceremony of Inter-College District Level Youth Festival-2019 on Thursday. Youth Festival-2019 commenced with 10 art forms of literary, fine arts and quiz competitions performed at three different colleges on Thursday. With participation of more than 15 colleges, the grand fest was inaugurated at Shri Ram Institute of Technology where participants presented amazing acts of mime, mimicry and skit. Guests who graced the occasion were Dean of Students’ Welfare, RDU, Professor Vivek Mishra, Professor Kiran Singh, Director, SRIT Dr L K Patel and others. First event of Youth Festival was divided into three acts of mime with 16 participants, mimicry with 10 participants and skit with participants.
 
These acts were based on different themes like misuses of mobile, Seeta Haran, situation of women in present scenario, environment conservation, incredible India, unemployment, Sonchiri etc. Enthusiastic performances of students left the audience awestruck. Winners of three different acts included Mata Gujri College for Women for Mime, St Aloysius College Sadar for Mimicry and G S College for skit. These acts were three judges panel. Further, second event of Youth Festival was held in Mata Gujri College for Women with the Fine art activities including rangoli making, collage making, poster making, clay modeling, spot painting and cartoon making. In this event, total 66 participants from over 15 colleges of district participated. Series of activities and their theme included poster making on plastic carry bag nuisance and solution, spot painting on Gandhi and Society and My Country, collage making on nature and mother and child, clay modelling on animal care and environment care, cartoon social incident and your own views and rangoli making based on sanskar, free-hand and traditional designs.
 
These acts were judged by three judges panel. Winners of the competition were Ragini Singh of MGCW in painting, Harpreet Kaur of MGCW in poster, Jaya Patel of MGCW in cartoon, Pooja Kumar of Government College Majhauli, Aunbhav Soni of RDU in clay modelling, Ranu Vishwakarma of Mankuwar Bai College in collage making and Kritika Rawat of MKB College in rangoli making. Last event of first day of ‘Youth Festival 2019’ was organised in Government Model Science College with quiz competition. In this competition over 32 participants from 12 different colleges participated. The competition was conducted in 6 rounds after a tough written examination. Amongst 32 participants 7 were selected for the 6 round quiz. Winner of the competition was Ashutosh Singh from St Aloysius College. Winners have been selected for the Inter District University level competition, the next level of ‘Youth Festival 2019’.
