Gates of Pench National Park reopened for the tourist after three-month monsoon break on Friday.
On first day, large number of tourists visited the park for enjoying safari ride and beauty of the jungle. This was really something interesting for tourist who visited the park on first day as tigress popular as ‘Collarwali Baghin’ spotted with two cubs.
Due to prolonged monsoon, roads of the park were broken and it was tough to run Gypsy and other vehicles on the road. Concerned over the problems, park management decided to reopen the park from second week of October instead of October 1. Now, roads have been repaired and all arrangement have been made for the tourists.
Apart from this other tiger reserves and national parks of Madhya Pradesh are being reopened in several dates this week. Madai jungle under district Hoshangabad would begin from October 16. Online booking for the safari has been started.
One can easily witness tiger, leopard, antelope, bison and other wildlife in Madai jungle. Field Director of Satpura Tiger Reserve (STR) S K Singh said that earlier reserve was planned to reopen from October 1.
Singh said that it is very common to see tiger in core area and only reserve guides are allowed in the area for tourists. Parsapani and Jamanidev areas come under Buffer zone where private taxi and guards are allowed for the tourist.
Bandhavgarh Tiger Reserve (BTR) has already opened for the tourist on October 1. BTR is enriched with flora and fauna with higher population of tigers. Every year large number of tourist visits the reserve to enjoy the wild. The reserve has varieties of animals, birds and other species. As monsoon is yet to say goodbye, the reserve is green and bushes have grown up everywhere. Most of resorts and safaris in reserve are pre-booked.
Re-opening of other reserves namely Kanha Tiger Reserve, Satpura Tiger Reserve and Panna Tiger Reserve has been postponed for October 16. Booking amount of tourists who have already booked their package for these reserves have been refunded. This year tiger reserves and national parks are expecting good number of tourist after re-opening of parks. Most of the resorts at tiger reserves, national parks and wildlife sanctuaries have witnessed full booking even one month before re-opening this season owing to the rising population of tigers.
Forest officers said that closing of parks provide some privacy to the wild animals like lion, tiger, elephant, birds like peacock etc during their mating season as monsoon period are considered the best for their breeding. At present, BTR has more than 40 tigers in the reserve.
All national parks and wildlife sanctuaries closes for tourist every year from July onwards. This year higher number tourist has booked their tour package for Bandhavgarh. As this year Madhya Pradesh gets back its tag of tiger state, tourist are more excited to enjoy the wild beauty of jungles.
