2 leopard poachers arrested from Mandleshwar village

STF Forest has arrested two accused for electrocution of a leopard near Narmada-Bagadi River in Mandleshwar village under Dewas. After killing the leopard, the accused took out the skin, moustache, nails and teeth of the leopard for witchcraft purpose and buried the carcass. One of the accused absconded. Forest officials said that body parts of the leopard have been recovered from the accused. The incident took place about a month back. The accused accepted that they had electrocuted the leopard for black magic and buried the remaining carcass in jungle.
 
According to forest officials, Azad Uikey was residing in servant quarter of Nadi Sangam and he plotted the electric wire around his field. A three-year-old leopard was caught in the trap and died. After a month of the incident, an informer informed the matter to forest beat officials. STF Forest team arrested Azad Uikey from his residence. The police team also recovered carcass of leopard buried in the jungle. During interrogation, Uikey told the police that a few parts of leopard are with Mohkam from Betul and Chotu from Mandleshwar. The team has arrested Chotu but Mohkam is still at large.
