City all set to host National Cultural Festival from today

On the initiative of ‘Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat’, the 10th National Cultural Festival would be organised in Jabalpur, Sagar and Rewa, from October 14 to 21. First phase of the festival would be organised at Shaheed Smarak, Gole Bazar premises, on October 14 and 15. The festival will be inaugurated at 6:30 pm. Chief guest on the occasion will be Governor Lalji Tandon while Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Culture and Tourism, Prahlad Patel will preside over the programme. Special guests on the occasion will be Union Minister of State for Steel, Faggan Singh Kulaste, State Minister for Social Justice, Lakhan Ghanghoria, Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha), Rakesh Singh, Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), Vivek Tankha, Mayor, Dr. Swati Godbole, Cultural Ministry, Secretary, Arun Goyal, Cultural Ministry, Joint Secretary, Amit Prasad Sarabhai and Zonal Cultural Centre’s directors. Preparations for organising a mega event were given final touching under the supervision of Central Cultural Ministry, Senior Officer, Amita Prasad Sarabhai and Sarvesh Kumar Arya.
 
Team of top officials from Cultural Ministry, Government of India and Zonal Cultural Centre’s directors is monitoring the preparations since one week. During the two days National Cultural Festival, noted singer Suresh Vadekar, Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, Sabri Brothers of Jaipur, Sobhna Narayan, Roop Kumar and Sonali Rathore, Saroja Vaidhnath, Vikku Vinayak Ram, Dr. Satinder Sartaj, Anuradha Paudwal, Geeta Mahalik, Renu Majumdar, Preeti Patel, Tanushree Shankar will give their performance. Under the head of ‘Maati Ke Lal’ campaign, local artists will also be given opportunity to exhibit their talent.
 
Besides this, several aspects of Indian culture like food dishes, handicraft, folk arts of 22 states including Assam, Karnataka, Haryana, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Goa, Tamil Nadu, Manipur, Kerala and Jammu and Kashmir will be exhibited by artists. Food festival and handicraft exhibition would also be organised from 10 am to 9:30 pm while local artists will perform from 10 am to 6 pm. The main cultural programmes would be organised from 6 pm onwards. The second phase of the programme would be organised in Sagar at PTC Ground, Pili Kothi road, Civil Line, on October 16 and 17 and in Rewa at Government Thakur Ranmant Singh College ground, Civil Line, on October 20 and 21.
