Narmada Mahotsav concludes with a befitting finale

Chief guest, Finance Minister Tarun Bhanot promises to give the festival an international look next year  
 
Luring world tourism near naturally gorgeous and world heritage site, Bhedaghat, the 16th Narmada Mahotsav – 2019 concluded in a melodious musical night on Sunday. The two-day festival depicted the significance of holy river Narmada while the harmony of folk and classical dances and songs amid the magical effect of moonlit night on Sharad Poornima left a memorable experience for the spectators. Chief guest on the occasion was State Minister for Finance, Tarun Bhanot while MLA, Bargi, Sanjay Yadav was special guest. Special guests on the occasion included Bhedaghat Nagar Panchayat President, Shaila Jain, former Minister, Chandra Kumar Bhanot, Radheshyam Choubey, Jagat Bahadur Singh, former President, Mahesh Tiwari, Sunil Jain, Divisional Commissioner, Rajesh Bahuguna, Collector, Bharat Yadav, Jabalpur Municipal Corporation Commissioner, Ashish Kumar and Jila Panchayat, Chief Executive Officer, Priyank Mishra.
 
Finance Minister, Tarun Bhanot inaugurated the programme with worship of Goddess river Narmada and lighting of traditional lamps. Addressing the programme, the Finance Minister directed the officers of concerned departments for starting preparations for the 20th Narmada Mahotsav – 2020 from the very next day. He also announced a separate budget provision for giving an international touch to Narmada Mahotsav by inviting international repute artists in the festival. He also directed officers for tabling report of financial analysis for soon approving separate budget for the festival.
 
Bhanot expressed his disappointment that Bhedaghat was yet to get its due recognition and development. He expressed gratitude towards Chief Minister Kamal Nath for giving him open hand for materialising development and promotion works and assured that budget will no longer remain hurdle in development of Bhedaghat. Main attraction on second day of Narmada Mahotsava was performance of noted Bollywood singer Abhijit Bhattacharya who mesmerised the audience with his melodious voice. The programme started with attractive folk dance show of Ratna Datta from Singrauli.
 
Dance show was followed by performance of Bhajan and classical singer, Vivek Karmahe. The programme was organised under the banner of Jabalpur Tourism Promotion Council in association with Culture Department of Madhya Pradesh, Tourism Development Corporation, district administration, Jila Panchayat, Jabalpur Municipal Corporation and Bhedaghat Nagar Panchayat.
