Poacher nabbed for killing Cheetal, cooking meat in Pench

A team of the Forest Department nabbed a poacher and seized equipment used for poaching and cooking of Cheetal at Pench Tiger Reserve. The accused has been identified as Anil Pandre, son of Chandar Singh Pandre, a resident of Barelipar village. Field Director of Pench Tiger Reserve, Viram Singh Parihar informed that acting on a tip-off, a team of Pench Tiger Reserve started search for a poacher in compartment number-384 of Barelipar beat under Ghatkohka buffer area. Continuing the search, team arrested the accused involved in poaching of Cheetal by laying live wire at his farm.
 
In the interrogation, the accused confessed poaching of Cheetal and informed that he cooked and ate the meat of wild animal. On his identification, team seized remains of Cheetal along with GI wire, hook, an axe etc. Forest Department has registered a case under Sections 2, 9, 39 and 52 of Wild Life Protect Act – 1972 and produced the accused before the court.
 
Accused was arrested under the direction of Pench Tiger Reserve, Field Director, Vikram Singh Parihar and Deputy director, M.B. Sirsaiyya, Assistant Conservator of Forest (Seoni Area), B.P. Tiwari by forest team comprised of Santosh Kumar Patel, Circle Officer, Ghatkohka (Buffer), Ramesh Kumar Uike, Forest Ranger, Jagdish Bhalavi, Pankaj Choudhary, Forest Guards, Arun Kulhade, Forest Guard, Durgesh Navreti, Heera Uike and Bhuvan Marskole.
