Vikas Thakre, Girish Pandav figure in Cong’s second list

VIKAS Thakre, President of Nagpur city Congress and Girish Pandav figured in the second list declared by Congress on Tuesday late night. Two days ago, it had declared first list where Sunil Kedar (Saoner) and Dr Nitin Raut (NagpurNorth) figured from Nagpur district. Of course, if one have a look at the tradition of Congress, it has always changed such lists so it will happen this time also, say reliable source in Delhi. The other names from Vidarbha are Akot Sanjay Ramdasji Bodke, Akola East Vivek Ramrao Paraskar, Washim (SC) Rajani Mahadev Rathod, Achalpur Aniruddha Subhanrao Deshmukh. Shekhar, the son ofPramodShende,formerDeputySpeaker will pose challenge to Pankaj Bhoyar, sitting MLA.
 
Shende had contested the elections in 2009 and 2014 also. RajuParwe got the ticket of Umred (SC). Sahasram Karote (Amagaon-ST),AnandraoGedam(Armori - ST), Dr Chanda Nitin Kodawate (Gadchiroli-ST), Subhash Dhote - Rajura, Dr Vishwas Zade (Ballarpur), Wamanrao Kasawar (Wani). Former Education Minister Vasant Chinduji Purke has been fielded from Ralegaon,while former Social Justice Minister Adv Shivajirao Moghe is the candidate of Arni -ST. Vijay Khadse has been fielded from Umarkhed (SC). In 2014 too Congress had fielded Vikas Thakre and the opponent was Sudhakar Deshmukh. Deshmukh had defeated Thakre by a margin of over 25,000 votes.
 
For Girish Pandav this will be his first election. Name of Thakre was very much certain. In fact the list that was sent from Nagpur after the interviews were conducted,only Thakre’s namewas there from West Nagpur. As far as SouthNagpuris concerned,the names of Atul Londhe (promoted by Manikrao Thakre),Pramod Manmode(promoted by Vijay Wadettiwar and Vishal Muttem war were doing rounds. Manmode tried with Nationalist Congress Party also. In fact he met Jayant Patil, State President of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) last month when he was in Nagpur. Vilas Muttemwar,aseven time MP had tried his best to get his son Vishal the ticket of South. But none could succeed and Girish Pandav got the ticket.
