NVCC encourages traders for voting

Business Bureau : The Nag Vidarbha Chamber of Commerce (NVCC) on Saturday urged the traders of the region to cast their votes in the State Legislative Assembly elections scheduled on October 21. The office-bearers of the NVCC, representing about 13 lakh members spread all over the Vidarbha region, discussed various issues related to trade and commerce at the meeting held here in the premises of the office of the chambers in Civil Lines Nagpur. Ashvin Mehadia, President of the Chamber, presided over the meeting. On the occasion, he said that all the traders should come forward and cast their votes. “It is very important for all of us as well as for the country.
 
We should also encourage ll our elegible family members to participate in the festval of the democracy,” he said. Mehadia also urged the members to create awareness on polling among the workers and their family members. “All of us should encouage our employees, business associates and others to participate in the election process,” he added. It is important to note that the percentage of voting during the recently held Lok Sabha polls was low. Taking this into account, the district administration is creating awareness among the voters. The district administration, on Thursday appealed to the industrialists and business community to exercise their right to vote.
 
During the Lok Sabha elections held earlier this year, less than 50 per cent polling was reported in 2100 polling booths in Nagpur city. Ramavatar Totla, Secretary, conducted the proceedings while Umesh Patel, Joint Secretary, proposed the vote of thanks. Prakash Mehadia, Past President, Farooque Akbani and Sanjay Agrawal, vice-presidents, Sachin Puniyani, Treasurer, Swapnil Ahirkar and Shabbar Shakir, PRO, and others were present.
