THE Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) appeals to all the traders that they should be aware that the 7th Economic Census is being conducted by Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation, Government of India throughout the country. Economic Census provides basic information on various operational and structural aspects of all economic establishment in the country. The economic census provides valuable insights into geographical spread, clusters, ownership pattern, persons engaged, etc., of the establishments engaged in entrepreneurial acitivity. CSC e-Governance Services India Limited (an SPV under Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology) has been engaged as the implementing agency for 7th EC.
The enumerators and supervisors engaged by CSC have been trained to collect data on mobile application through door to door visit to each establishment. All citizens and businessess are requested to provide complete and correct information about their economic activity. Information collected through the Economic Census will help in designing suitable polices and interventions by Government and non-Government agencies for improving socio-economic condition of the country.
“It is assured that the information provided by business will be kept completely confidential,” said B C Bhartia, National President of CAIT. He requests all members of CAIT to extend their co-operation and support to the 7th Economic Census 2019 and provide correct and complete information to the enumerators visiting their premises.
