Nova Nature Society conducts awareness programmes on Wild Life Week

On the occasion of Wild Life Week 2019, Nova Nature Society conducted mass awareness programmes where members from society held interactive sessions at schools and colleges on issues including snake bite, status of tigers, elephants and wild buffalo in State with the people.

Nova Nature Society member M Suraj stated that more than 50,000 snake bites are recorded per year. As an agricultural and forest dominated state, encounter with snakes remains high during monsoon season in Chhattisgarh.
Some of these encounters may lead to snake bite mortality. Nova Nature Welfare Society is one
such NGO that is working for both reptiles as well as welfare of humans this deployed rescue teams across Raipur, Durg and Bijapur districts.
 
Interactive sessions with participation from both society as well as students took place in the sensitising session.
The programmes are conducted in Railway school, Durg, Ayurvedic College, Raipur, Government School of Bijapur.
From society Moiz Ahmed, M Suraj, Ajay Choudhary, Avinash Mourya, Praveen Dono de, Awadh Bihari (Mr. Chhattisgarh in Body Building), Ram Muree and Shanti lal (Teacher in Bijapur) had actively taken part in programmes.
 
Also from State forest department, Vivek Shukla (IFS, Durg), Uttam Gupta (IFS, Raipur), Abhay Pandey (SDO, Durg), Wahid Khan (Range Officer, Durg) jointly guided and assisted society in these programs and introduce children to Wild life week.
 
Also from Railway school, S K Singh, and from Ayurvedic College Inchulkar, HoD, has provided their support to the efforts.
