ICAI organises seminar exclusively for women

Central India Regional Council’s Raipur, Bhilai and Bilaspur branches of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), for the first time, organised a national seminar exclusively for women at Babylon Inn, Jail Road, Raipur on Saturday. Only women-centric issues were discussed in the national seminar that witnessed around 150 women chartered accountants of the State.
 
Raipur Branch President Chandraprakash Bhatia, Central Council member Kemisha Soni, Regional Council member Shashikant Chandrakar, Bilaspur Branch president Sachendra Jain, Student Wing president Riddhi Jain, Women Steering member Payal Jain and Inderpreet Kaur and Raipur Branch secretary Bajrang Agrawal inaugurate the seminar by lighting the lamp.
 
In his presiding speech, Bhatia said that the women today are efficient enough to do any work on their won. They (women) do not need reservation, he said. Kemisha Soni said that 25 per cent of CAs in the country are women and they are either engaged in reputed firms or working independently. Income Tax Additional Commissioner Sheetal Shashwat Verma said that there is no different between men and women when it comes to doing good work. She said that her department had honoured her for good work towards public awareness.
 
GST Joint Commissioner Pratibha Bansal said that the women recently recruited after the implementation of GST are working at part with their experienced counterparts. Dr Tabassum Dalla said that today women should take special care of their health to strike a balance between private and professional life. Bajrang Agrawal proposed a vote of thanks. Raipur branch treasurer Ravi Gawlani and women programme media in-charge Mrinalini Dubey furnished the details of the seminar.
