For first time, Defence Production Group to meet at VFJ on Nov 18

Defence Production Group meeting would be organised for first time in Madhya Pradesh at Vehicle Factory Jabalpur (VFJ) on November 18. The meeting would be organised to discuss the requirements of para-military forces and state police forces for weapons, explosives, small arms and defence vehicles. Senior officers of Ordnance Factories will hear the requirements of users for production of defence materials. Senior officers of Ministry of Home Affairs and Ordnance Factory Board will discuss the available resources, modification and modernisation of defence production to set the defence production target for Ordnance Factories for the year 2020-21.
 
Vehicle Factory Jabalpur’s Joint General Manager and Spokesperson A K Rai, while talking to ‘The Hitavada’, informed that Ministry of Home Affairs, Additional Secretary, Vivek Bharadwaj (IAS) will chair the meeting while senior officers of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), India Tibet Border Police (ITBP), Assam Rifles, National Security Guard (NSG), Shashtra Seema Bal (SSB), Central Armed Police Force (CASF), Nepal Police, representatives from different state governments and senior officers of 15 Ordnance Factories will attend the meeting.
 
Gathering of defence users and senior officers of Ministry of Home Affairs and Ordnance Factory Board will be an opportunity for VFJ administration to showcase its potentials and attracting para-military forces and State Governments towards defence vehicles being manufactured at VFJ. Vehicle Factory Jabalpur is currently manufacturing Modified Mine Protected Vehicle, LPTA, Stallion, Water Bowser while modification of Sarang Gun system is also underway at the factory.
