Planning of cities of State to be world-class: Jaivardhan Singh

Urban Development and Housing Minister Jaivardhan Singh has informed that the planning of cities of Madhya Pradesh will be world-class. For this, master plans of New York, London, Tokyo, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Johannesburg and Munich are being studied. “Master plans of 34 cities of the State are going to made GIS-based on the lines of these cities.
We will adopt important points of these cities in transit oriented development, mix land use, zoning plan and traffic impact study etc,” he said. Land Pooling and Real Estate Policy: Jaivardhan Singh informed that land pooling policy will be formed very soon in the state. In this, land will be developed by making land holders as stake holders. Housing Board, tourism and local bodies will also be included in the policy. In order to give momentum to real estate business, One State-One Registration formula is being introduced. The Government has also given permission to people with less than 2 hectare land to make housing schemes. Over one lakh residential units approved under Mukhya Mantri Awas Mission: Jaivardhan Singh said that the Chief Minister intends that every family must have habitable land. In the same sequence, the Mukhya Mantri Awas Mission has been launched on September 11, 2019.
The scheme for construction of one lakh 15,892 residential units has been approved under the scheme. The process of distributing habitable pattas to one and a half lakh landless families of the state is in progress. 380 electric buses in 5 urban bodies: The Urban Development and Housing Minister informed that 380 electric buses will be run in 5 urban bodies to protect the cities from pollution. As many as 40 buses have already started plying in Indore. He informed that the Akshay Jal Sanchay Abhiyan has been started. More than 80,000 roof water harvesting structures have been constructed in 378 urban bodies. Ten lakh saplings have been planted in urban bodies. He informed that 11 lakh conventional lights will be converted into LEDs in urban bodies. This will reduce power consumption of street lights by 50 percent. He also informed that so far more than 2 lakh citizens have taken oath not to use single use plastic. To prevent the use of single use plastic, 4 lakh cloth bags have been distributed.
To prevent the use of single use plastic in public and private events, more than 1,500 Bartan Banks have been built. As many as 836 small garbage collection vehicles are being purchased for waste management. With this, 83 material recovery centres are being built. He also informed that temporary employment of 100 days or stipend is being given to the youth of urban areas along with vocational skills training under Mukhyamantri Yuva Swabhimaan Yojana. The scheme is being operated in 166 urban bodies. At present, 19,932 beneficiaries are receiving training and Rs 12.10 crore has been distributed as stipend to 18,396 eligible beneficiaries. He informed that the work for Metropolitan Authority, Metro Rail and to maintain the cleanliness of Maa Narmada seepage management in all 21 local bodies along the Narmada bank is being carried out.
