Metro’s Jaiprakash Nagar Station commissioned

Station will cater to needs of residents in Khamla, Sneh Nagar, Swaraj Nagar, Panchadeep Nagar, and nearby areas 
 
Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MMRCL) has commissioned Jaiprakash Nagar Station of Nagpur Metro on Wednesday. This is the fifth station on Reach-2, Khapri-Sitabuldi route, to be opened for passenger traffic. First Metro train to pass through the station was enroute to Khapri during the morning hours. Early morning walkers stumbled upon the board put up by MMRCL authorities informing about opening of station for travellers. People from nearby Jaiprakash Nagar and other colonies took a ride upto Khapri just to enjoy the feel of travelling by Metro.
 

 
The Metro rail that started from Sitabuldi Inter-change was the first service of the day and reached Jaiprakash Nagar station at 8.17 am. For citizens the travel was a joy ride and more out of curiosity as to how it feels to travel in Metro. Currently, three stations on At-reach section are functional that are Khapri, New Airport and South Airport and now next in line is starting of Jaiprakash Nagar station. The station is expected to cater to needs of residents in Khamla, Sneh Nagar, Swaraj Nagar, Panchadeep Nagar, Rajiv Nagar, Jaiprakash Nagar and other colonies.
 
During morning hours eight services would be available on way to Khapri, same during the afternoon time and thereafter in evening also eight services would run in direction of Khapri, the last station on the route. Also on way to Sitabuldi Inter-change station to Metro services would be available in three slots, morning, afternoon and evening. Means every half an hour a service would be available on either of the direction from Jaiprakash Nagar station. In the last week, Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety (CMRS) Janak Garg and his team had examined Jaiprakash Nagar Station and gave green signal to open the same for travellers.
 
The station has lift, escalator, marking on platforms for handicapped, parking area in circulating area etc. During the day, children from remote Gadchiroli were on visit to city and they were taken for ride in Metro. As the Metro touched Jaiprakash Nagar it was announced that this is the first train to have commercial stoppage and children enthusiastically clapped to express their joy.
