Agriculture Deptt continues checking of seeds, fertilisers

In the ongoing state wide campaign ‘Shudh Ke Liye Yudh’ initiated by the State Government, continuous surprise checking and inspection is being carried out by the officials of the Agriculture Department in Jabalpur district's rural and urban markets. On Friday, a team of Agriculture Department carried out surprise inspection of shops selling seed, fertilizers and pesticides. While also issued show cause notices to the shopkeepers on finding irregularities in maintaining records, stock of the fertilizer, pesticides and seed.

Deputy Director Agriculture, Dr S K Nigam informed that Sub Divisional Officer Agriculture, Pratibha Gaur, Senior Agriculture Extension Officer, V C Namdeo, J P Bilthare, P K Shrivastava carried out checking of Minakshi Traders situated in Damohnaka, Jai Devi Trading Company, Choudary Crop Care, Sai Kripa Krishi Kendra, Shiva Kripa Krishi Kendra and other shops situated near Krishi Upaj Mandi.

 

Dr Nigam added that during the inspection various irregularities were found in shops especially related to the stock records of fertilizers, seeds, pesticides and on finding violations show cause notices have been issued to traders. Dr Nigam added that on Friday, another team comprised of SDO Agriculture, Dr Indira Tripathi, Senior Agriculture Extension Officer, PK Shrivastava carried out surprise inspection of Deepshikha Fertilizers, Jai Hind Kisan Kendra. During the inspection at Satya Sai Deep Sikha Fertilizer the principle certificates of the Fertilizers and Pesticides were not present. While at Jai Kisan Kendra the records were having miss match. And at this centre with immediate effect ban on sale of fertilizer and pesticide have been imposed with issuance of the Show Cause Notice.

 

Both the institutions have to file their reply in given three days time. On having dissatisfactory answer their license would be cancelled. Similarly in Shahpura at Puneet Traders the inspection was carried out and on finding irregularities the show cause notice have been issued.
