AJAY Kumar Yadav, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Durg assumed the office on Tuesday. He was welcomed by Prakhar Pandey, outgoing Superintendent of Police (SP), Durg along with all gazetted police officials. Earlier, SSP Yadav was posted as DIG (Intelligence and Security), Police Headquarter (PHQ), Raipur and after the recent transfer he assumed the charge. He has served in various posts in the districts of the State including Dantewada, Bilaspur Bastar, Jagdalpur, Janjgir-Champa and Narayanpur. While interacting with mediapersons after taking the charge, SSP Yadav said that with compliance of special guidelines he would stressed upon implementation of basic policing to the letter for effective crime control and healthy police public rapport. SSP also informed that for ensuring implementation of basic policing all Gazetted Officers (GOs) would be directed for ensuring personal supervision once a week at a police station in their respective zones and subdivisions.
 
If there is no complaint of negligence in investigation of cases, the Investigation Officers (IOs) would not be changed or given new charges prior to completion of pending cases at hands for fast disposal of pending cases. SSP Yadav said that after looking into the prevailing issues related to vehicular traffic and keeping in view the black spots, he would chalk out the strategy for smooth vehicular traffic in twin city of Bhilai and Durg thereby effectively curbing the road mishaps. He was talking to media persons at Police Control Room, Bhilai on Tuesday noon. Among the senior police officials, Rohit Kumar Jha, ASP (City); Lakhan Patle, ASP (Rural); Pragya Meshram, ASP (IUCW) and Pravirchandra Tiwari, Dy SP (Crime) were present.
