Social Welfare Department of Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) reunited an elderly person with his family. Seeing the family head after a gap of six months was too much and they all burst into tears, though those of happy moments. This was case of Sunil Pardhi (56), he hails from Thana village of Tiroda tehsil in Gondia district. About six months back, Pardhi who has suffered paralytic attack was found in distressed condition on footpath in front of Binzani Vidyalay, Mahal.
 
The man was found begging on the streets seeking help from passers-by and his plight was very pitiful aggravated by paralysis. The squad of Social Welfare Department rescued Pardhi and took him Home of Homeless persons set up by NMC at Hansapuri under Deendayal Antoyday Yojana-Rashtriya Nagari Upjivika Abhiyan. The same is supervised by Deputy Commissioner Ranjana Lade under whom Social Welfare Department of civic body functions. After spending about six months, Pardhi got emotional and wanted to meet the family. The counsellors talked with him and after composing him Pardhi shared details about his background and also the address of his home. Pardhi also said he is desperate to meet the family members whom he misses now.
 
The employees got in touch with the Pardhi family and intimated them about details of their family head. An ambulance was arranged and Pardhi was transported to Thana village. The cousellors also talked to family members and gave them instruction on handling their family head and discussed his mental frame work. Family members were overcome with joy on safe return of their head. They had nearly given up hope after Pardhi went missing from home about six months back. Pardhi too let his emotions take better of him as joy of reuniting with family was visible on his face.
