Kamal Nath Government is focusing on exploring new and renewable energy and in this direction special emphasis is being given to solar energy. In last one year, the capacity of grid connected project increased by 670 megawatt in State. Of it, solar projects of 645 MW and biomass project of 25 megawatt have been established. This was informed by Minister for New and Renewable Energy, Harsh Yadav during a press conference held at Congress office on Tuesday.
 
Harsh Yadav stated that target has been fixed that in next four years that projects of around 6,000 MW capacity, based on new and renewable energy, would be established in Madhya Pradesh. Under solar park scheme, decision has been taken to establish projects of 1500 MW in Agar, Shajapur and Neemuch districts. Land has been allotted to the department and shortly work on projects will be started. The estimated cost of these projects is around Rs 6,000 crore. Along with this, process has been started to develop solar parks in Bundelkhand and Chambal region.
 
Under this scheme, solar projects will be started in Sagar district’s Deori, Banda, Kesali, Jaisinagar and Morena district’s Morena, Jaora and Kailaras. The total capacity of these projects will be around 2,000 megawatt. Shedding light on Rewa’s solar project of 750 megawatt, he told that work of 740 megawatt has been completed and by shortly, production of energy till full installed capacity would be started. Talking about solar roof top scheme, he told that solar project of 500 KW capacity have been installed at bridge and retaining wall of upper lake in Bhopal. Moreover, State Government has decided to establish 2 lakh solar pumps for farmers in upcoming years.
 
State government is also moving in the direction of storage power. Scheme has been started to run e vehicle in State. On another department, he told that Handicraft Development Corporation, Mrignyani Emporium would be established in every district. Now clothes of Chanderi silk, Maheshwari silk would be available with variety in Mriganayni Emporium. Answering a question over corruption in Bundlekhand package, he told that he is of the opinion to punishment to accused.
