A 28-year-old man allegedly bludgeoned his wife to death with LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) cylinder on Friday in Raipur’s Raja Talab locality under Civil Lines police station over suspicion of infidelity.
A labourer identified as Prahlad Yadav (28) bludgeoned his wife Tara Bai alias Pinky (25) to death with LPG cylinder in wee hours of Friday over suspicion of having illicit relationship, said Civil Lines City Superintendent of Police (CSP) Sunil Sharma.
Four years back, the couple tied nuptial knot and has a two-and-half-years son, added the CSP.
“Aggrieved over Pinky’s habit of using mobile phone excessively, altercation between the couple took place frequently. On December 12, exchange of heated words took place between Pinky and Prahlad, after the latter caught the former engaged in telephonic conversation. To verify Pinky’s claim of having conversation with family members, Prahlad checked the call history of phone and found someone else’s number in the detail,” stated CSP Sharma.
Suspecting Pinky’s character, Prahlad bludgeoned the woman with mini LPG cylinder (weighing around 5 kg) at around 2:30 am in fit of rage and surrendered himself before Civil Lines Police this morning, said CSP Sharma.
CSP further informed that realising his act as wrong, Prahlad called his father Latel and brother Ravi Yadav. After handing over his two-and-half year son to father, Prahlad surrendered himself before police and narrated the entire incident following which police rushed to the spot for undertaking Crime Scene Investigation (CSI). Police have recovered the cylinder used in the crime and body was sent to autopsy. Civil Lines Police registered an offence against Prahlad under Section 302 of Indian Penal Code (IPC), which amounts to the charge of punishment for murder. The accused was produced before a local court here from where he was sent to judicial custody, added CSP Sharma.
