Notices should be issued to Chief Sanitary Inspectors and drivers who are negligent towards work so that they discharge duties of Swachh Survekshan with due sincerity and dedication, directed Municipal Commissioner Ashish Kumar during an inspection of cleanliness arrangements, on Sunday morning. Despite being holiday, Kumar visited many areas of the city and took stock of cleanliness work. At the outset, he visited workshop situated at JMC headquarters and expressed great displeasure over non-plying of vehicles for collecting garbage. He reprimanded concerned officers and got started off the vehicles in his presence only. He lashed out at the health department officials and vehicle contractors by giving strict instructions to improve the works.
Expressing displeasure over non-plying of door-to-door garbage collection vehicles, the Municipal Commissioner said now the garbage collection works would be reviewed regularly and the process would be tightened. Inspecting the Fecal Sludge Treatment Plant (FSTP) at Adhartal, Tilwara and Gwarighat, Kumar said the treatment plants should be cleaned regularly. He directed concerned senior officials to ensure painting of plants early. He said the water coming out of the plants should be used for watering plants in gardens.
The Municipal Commissioner, on Sunday inspected all FSTPs established in different areas of the city and sought detailed information about their working and urged the farmers to use plant water for irrigating their farms as it is good farming. During inspection Kumar said negligence in Swachh Survekshan 2020 league work would not be tolerated and lax officers and workers would be punish sternly. On the occasion, he instructed to keep the cleanliness arrangements proper and monitor the same regularly. A number of senior officials were also present on the occasion.
