Madhya Pradesh was conferred upon with the Best SOTTO (State Organ Tissue Transplant Organisation) award by the Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Dr Harshwardhan and Union Minister of State Ashvini Kumar Choubey. Best SOTTO Award was received by the Incharge SOTTO Dr Manish Purohit and Medico Social Worker Subhash Kumar Dangi in a programme held at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi on Saturday. The Minister for Medical Education Dr Vijayalaxmi Sadho has congratulated the departmental officers and doctors for this achievement.
The 10th National Organ Donation Day was organised by the autonomous organisation (NOTTO) of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. During the programme, the organs donor families were honoured and Best SOTTO, Best Hospital and Best Transplant Co-ordinator awards were presented for the outstanding activities in the field of organ donation at national and state level.
The Principal Secretary Shivshekhar Shukla informed that the Best SOTTO award has been conferred for the year 2019-20 in the field of deceased organ donation on the occasion of the 10th National Organ Donation Day. Besides, Sanjay Jain and Varsha Jain, the son and daughter in-law of the organ donor Late Rakhab Jain of Madhya Pradesh were also honoured on this occasion. He further informed that the SOTTO is located at the MGM Medical College, Indore.
