IN A tragic incident, a man was electrocuted after he accidentally came in contact with an overhead high power electric wire at Bhopal Railway Station on Thursday. Earlier news was abuzz that he tried to commit suicide by jumping before a train owing to his poor financial condition but the news was not confirmed by police officials. The man had climbed up the shade of a foot over bridge at platform no 2 of railway station from where he jumped on the train and he accidentally came in contact with a live wire.
 
He sustained more than 90 per cent burns and is battling for life at burn ward of Hamidia Hospital. According to In-charge of GRP (Bhopal) Dushyant Joshi, the man identified as Girdharilal Meena (42), a native of Jhunjhunu district, in Rajasthan. Wife of deceased has already passed away a couple of years ago and he is survived by three children. Joshi further said that the footage of CCTV camera installed at platform no 2 of railway station shows that the incident took place around 2:30 pm when he reached Bhopal Railway Station from Bengaluru in a train.
 
From here he had to board Hyderabad-Ajmer Express at platform no 2. While coming down the foot over bridge at platform no 2, he heard siren of the train and assumed that it has started moving, he jumped from the shade on boggie of train and in the process, he came in contact with an overhead high power electric wire and electrocuted. A video of the incident was later circulated on social media and it went viral. In the video, the moment he touches the overhead wire there is a loud bang and smoke started emitting from his body. Ironically, there were lot of people on the platform, but no one tried to help him, while many took videos on their mobile phones.
