‘Technology will change what we do in next 50 years’

GIVING an insight of what the world would look like in the next 50 years, Ashwani Nandini, VP Delivery, Global Logic said that new technologies like Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, Quantum Computing, Internet of Things etc., will take centre stage and bring change in the way we live and do things at a rate never imagined before. She was the keynote speaker at the IT Track on ‘Reshaping the world using digital technologies’ at the Annual Global Nagpur Summit organised by Nagpur First on Saturday.
 
She further said that there will be total autonomous vehicles on the roads and diverse mobility options. Everything we do will be done assisted by 5G enabled mobile phones. With technology it would be possible for startups to scale up to become $1 bn dollar companies within a year. People will be adopting technology at very high rate. The gadgets seen in sci-fi movies of today will become reality tomorrow. In the retail space products will be hyper personalised for individual customer requirements. Everything from manufacturing, education, surgery, healthcare, banking etc., will be assisted by advanced technology, she added.
 
Manpreet Singh Khurana, Vice President - US Service Delivery at HCL Technologies Ltd said that more than 20,000 IT professionals are currently working in Nagpur. Looking at the growth potential Nagpur has emerged as an IT hub.
He further said that HCL Nagpur Centre employs about 1,300 IT professionals and plans to employ more than 12,000 people within next five years. Out of 1,300 workers 90 per cent are local people. Currently, Nagpur Centre has one building and another tower is under construction which will be ready for operations by next year. Jalen He, Chief Architect, Kavout Corp, China and Rangarajan Vellamore, Co-founde, Zeta-V Technology elaborated on how business relations can be developed with China.
