Director of Coop Housing Society Rajput in police net

 

GHANSHYAM Singh Rajput, involved in fund bungling worth Rs 22 crore as Head of Board of a Housing Society after being suspended as railway clerk and carrying a cash reward of Rs 20,000, was arrested by Kolar police from his residence on Monday. Other members of board of directors of Rohit Housing Society who were booked by Economic Offences Wing (EOW) are still at large.

Director of a Cooperative Housing Society Rajput and 23 others including Tulsiram Chandrakar, Mohd Ayub Khan, Shrikant Singh, K S Thakur, L S Rajput, Basant Joshi, Surendra, Jyoti Maran, Amarnath Mishra, Anil Jha, Rewat Sahare, Amit Thakur, M D Salodkar, Girishchandra, Arun, Balkishan, C S Verma, Savita Joshi, Sushila Purohit, Rambahadur, Sima Singh, Sunil Choubey and Rakesh Pratap were booked on Saturday for allegedly duping customers of Rs 22.70 crore in Bhopal.

MP Police Economic Offences Wing started probe after a complaint in 2009 that Bhopal based Rohit Nagar Housing Cooperative Society Director Ghanshyam Singh Rajput and 23 others duped people by collecting money after promising to get them residential plots. Notably, a complaint against Rohit Housing Society has been pending with EOW since 2009 but no action was taken against Rajput for a decade due to his connections with the previous BJP Government in the State and an inquest into cases of Rohit Housing Society began after Congress coming to power.
