A DELEGATION of Chamber of Small Industry Associations (COSIA), met and interacted with Dr P Anbalagan, Chief Executive Officer, MIDC and discussed with him various issues and problems faced by MIDC plot holders and industrial units in MIDC areas.
(L to R) T S Pawar, Dy CEO MIDC, Mayank Shukla, Chairman of COSIA Vidarbha, CA Julfesh Shah, Core Committee Member of COSIA, Dr P Anbalagan, CEO, MIDC, Rajesh Zanzad, CE MIDC
and others at the meeting.
Mayank Shukla, Chairman, Vidarbha Chapter and CA Julfesh Shah, Core Committee Member submitted a memorandum listing various issues like steep rise in maintenance charges of MIDC plots with effect from November 2019. The effective rise works out as high as 3 to 5 times of their earlier charges. The sudden rise in the current economic meltdown/recession period will be a last nail in the coffins of ailing industries. Also, conditions like minimum 40% BCC requirement for new allottees is illogical. The industrial requirement of construction varies for different types of industries. In the case of industries engaged in heavy fabrication work they need open
space to carry out their manufacturing activity.
The memorandum also highlighted on various issues relating to allotment of plots for expansion. It has been observed that the existing industries which have established since years together and need to expand their activity with a requirement of small piece of land in their area of activity have been either denied or their application is kept on hold and primarily rejected or they are asked to move to another area. Whereas allotments to new proposals with huge land requirement have been entertained in the same area. This is totally unjustified and against the basic objective of MIDC establishment.
The MIDC areas in Hingna, Butibori, Kalmeshwar and other parts of Vidarbha are deprived of regular garbage disposal and cleanliness although industries regularly pay MIDC maintenance charges and Gram Panchayat taxes too. Both the authorities transfer the responsibility on each others shoulders . MIDC areas in this region have age old ‘Soak Pit System’ which needs to be replaced by drainage pipe system. Hingna and Butibori industrial areas have along pending demands of ESIS Hospital in their respective areas. But so far the demand has not been fulfilled.
COSIA also demanded basic amenities in Kalmeshwar Industrial area like State transport bus facility, Police station, parking zone, CCTV camera at prominent places and regular 24x7 water supply. Provision of these basic facilities is of prime importance in this area.
Long pending demand of bye pass road on Central MIDC Road connecting Wadi and Hingna MIDC area was also discussed with the authorities in the meeting. This road has heavy traffic movement because of schools, colleges and hospitals in existence throughout its route and in future the Metro Rail passing on this route will further aggravate the traffic problem on this route. To overcome this serious problem there is a bye pass road on Central MIDC Road which connects Hingna and Wadi industrial area, only a small patch admeasuring 3,000 square meters of this road is in possession of Ordinance Factory, Ambazari.
Hingna MIDC area which is one of the oldest and prime industrial areas of the State, has come into existence about 50 years back. Over a period CETP has become basic need for any industrial area. Hence, creation of CETP is the need of an hour and must be provided on top priority basis, the memorandum said.
Chander Khosla, Sunil Jejani, representative of various industrial associations were present.
