The sewage treatment plant (STP) and utlilisation pilot project in PMG Society, Narendra Nagar, is being operated successfully. Although Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) had planned for a similar plant in 32 gardens in the city, only one was commissioned, through a private agency.

The garden where water from adjoining nullas is treated and used is lush green and children even during noon could be seen playing under the trees.
 
Nagpur Municipal Corporation, in consultation with Japanese company Johkasou, had prepared the ambitious plan for sewage water treatment and utilise it in gardens, playgrounds of schools, road dividers and even by fire fighters. The ambitious project, however, remained pending for several years. Out of the 127 gardens in the city, spread over 152.81 acres of land, 32 were selected, as they were adjacent to drainage line.
 
Maharashtra Government has also issued directions on recycling of sewage water by local authorities. Johkasou representatives had held discussion with the municipal authorities in 2016. But only one unit was installed at PMG Society Garden. This unit also remained neglected for some time. The unit was handed over to a private agency of Nagpur Rite Water Solutions for operation and maintenance.
 
Similar experiments have been successfully carried out in Delhi, Bihar and a few other states. Delhi Government has made recycling of waste water mandatory for
