Search for the injured tigress in Sehore forest division would begin on Monday. Forest officials said that tigress has escaped herself inside den after being disturbed with the movement of elephants and sniffer dogs. As the feline has not killed any prey for a few days, she might be hungry. The team has stopped search for the tigress to make her come out of den. The team was making strict patrolling in suspected areas for one week but the tigress did not kill any prey for a week. The team has spotted ten different tigers during the search but failed to find out the injured tigress.

Talking to ‘The Hitavada’, Chief Conservator of Forest Ravindra Saxena said, “There are several dens round Veerpur, Kathotiya Jhiri and Karry Mahadev area where big cats can easily escape. It is very difficult to run four wheeler vehicles in the area and elephants are too unable to walk here. We have to wait for another movement of tigress when she moves on the field.” He further informed that tigress T-21 was not being trapped for past few days around Kathotiya range and now she has been traced on Obedullaganj division during the haunt.

He further added, “We have given orders to rescue the tigress anyhow so new strategy is being discussed. We are also mapping the ways traced by sniffer dog and it does not work, we will use drone camera. Elephant patrolling has been stopped for two days so that tigress come on the field for killing prey.” Officials are suspecting the tigress might be move towards Ratapani. More than 50 cameras have been placed from Bhopal to Sehore in which dozens of tigers and wildlife are being trapped. The team is unable to trap the injured tigress which put the forest officials on toes.

The team searched tigress continuously five days in Veerpur range of Sehore division. Wildlife experts said that it is important to rescue the tigress as she is injured. Poachers too keep an eye on injured wildlife and the tigress requires treatment. The tigress is changing her location frequently due to which officials are facing difficulty in trapping her. They said delay in treatment of tigress could be very dangerous. The tigress is also injured as she was trapped in a net plotted by poachers about fifteen days back. Officials said after treating the injury, tigress will be released in jungle. There are chances that part of trap can be entangled in her paws.” This can lead into infection or some other problem to the tigress.
