A gang war between two groups of inmates reportedly erupted in Central Jail Raipur on Tuesday over an issue of dominance left two prisoners injured. “A clash between two groups of prisoners reportedly took place inside Central Jail Raipur. Two prisoners, purportedly members of a gang facing trials or serving terms in various cases, were reportedly injured in the clash and undergoing treatment at jail hospital,” averred sources in the jail.
 
The goons of Sanjay Raksel attacked inmates identified as Rafiq and Arif after a clash broke between them over petty issue, said sources, adding that the injured inmates were undergoing treatment in jail hospital. Despite repeated attempts to reach Deputy Inspector General (Jail) K K Gupta, he was not available for his version on the matter. Similarly, on being contacted to Ganj Station House Officer (SHO) Ashish Shukla, under whose jurisdiction the jail fall, said he had not received any complaint or information from the jail administration.
