The voice sample collected from Manturam Pawar will soon be send to Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) in Raipur for matching it with available voice recordings
Former Congress leader Manturam Pawar on Tuesday appeared before Special Investigation Team (SIT), which is probing the alleged fixing of Antagarh by-poll, in Raipur and gave his voice sample to the probing team. The voice sample collected from the then Congress candidate (of the by-poll) Manturam will soon be send to Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) in Raipur for matching it with available recordings, said a senior police officer and member of the probing team.
“The entire process of collecting Manturam’s voice sample was carried out at the office of cyber cell in campus of Ganj police station on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Manturam has recorded his voice sample by repeating lines, which were part of purported conversation available with the SIT in seized pen drive,” averred police sources. Notably, SIT has recently issued a notice to Manturam and asked him to appear before the committee for submitting voice sample so that it could be matched with recordings available in seized pen drive.
It may be recalled that a sting tape purportedly carried the conversations of former chief minister Ajit Jogi, Raman Singh’s son-inlaw Puneet Gupta, Amit Jogi, then Congress candidate Manturam Pawar and Siddiqui, linked to alleged fixing of Antagarh assembly bypoll. A FIR in this connection was registered with Pandri police station under Sections 406, 420, 171 (e), 171(f), 120B of Indian Penal Code (IPC), and under relevant Sections of Prevention of Corruption Act-1988.
