National Coordination Committee to improve technical edn: Verma

“Implementation of Comprehensive Training Programme for Technical Teachers, launched by the All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE), would certainly improve the panorama of technical education in Chhattisgarh State”, pointed M K Verma, Vice-Chancellor of Chhattisgarh Swami Vivekananda Technical University (CSVTU).
According to the information, for proper execution of Comprehensive Training Programme for Technical Teachers, the AICTE has formed the National Coordination Committee, which includes Professor H P Khincha Former Vice-Chancellor, VTU, Bangalore as Chairman of the committee along with Professor R P Dahiya Former Professor,

Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi; Professor M K Verma, V-C CSVTU, Chhattisgarh; Professor Sunil Kumar, V-C RGVP Bhopal and Professor Ashwini Sharma as members. The committee also includes all four directors from National Institutes of Technical Teachers’ Training & Research (NITTTR), Advisor-I, RIFD of AICTE and Director, RIFD of AICTE as Member Secretary.
 
While addressing the media persons, the V-C of CSVTU M K Verma pointed that the main objectives of the Training Policy for inductee teachers is to monitor, facilitate and successively improve the quality of training by proposing to develop suitable resource persons, resource material (both print and online modes) and carrying out action research. He added that the other needs of the Training Policy are general orientation about the present scenario and challenges of technical education and the spectrum of duties and expectations, basic understanding of the teaching-learning process, the psychology of learning and effective pedagogical techniques, Training for preparing lesson plans and effective instructional process and initiatives for developing competence in communication skills in various modes
relevant to the technical profession etc.
