RMC clears over 3,000 posters, banners across State Capital

With the Code of Conduct for Lok Sabha Election-2019 coming into force, Raipur Municipal Corporation (RMC) has begun clearing off the streets from posters and banners of different political parties.


On the direction of RMC Commissioner Shiv Anant Tayal, flying squads have started picking out political banners, posters from across the City streets, electric poles and buildings. Starting from Sunday evening, RMC staff cleared 3409 banners, posters from public properties and 193 from private properties. They have even begun painting over the slogans written on the walls.


Besides, they are also putting covers on name plates related to all the schemes/projects, government works, inauguration, Bhoomi Pujan, unveiling, and plaque stones.
Even as the report was being filed, flying squads were removing the posters/banners. RMC Commissioner has directed the Zone Commissioners, Town Planning Officers, and Town Planning Engineers to ensure full compliance with the Code of Conduct.
