Huge quantity of illegal liquor seized from house

Acting on a precise tip-off, Rakhi police on Sunday arrested a 30-year-old youth and recovered huge quantity of liquor illegally stocked in his house, police said. The estimated market value of the seized liquor would be around Rs 1.34 lakh, added police. Police have arrested Sunil Goswami (30), a resident of village Khandua under Rakhi police limits and recovered around 30 boxes of foreign liquor which the accused illegally stored in his house, said Additional Superintendent of Police (Rural) Tarkeshwar Patel.

“Following a tip-off about person illegally storing huge quantity of liquor, a police team swung into action and rounded Sunil. On being subjected to interrogation, the accused admitted of illegally keeping foreign liquor in his house. Investigation revealed that the accused has stocked the liquor for selling it at higher price,” stated ASP Rural. An offence against the accused has been registered under relevant Section of Excise Act, added the officer.
