INTUC passes resolution to support Congress in polls

Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC) passed a political resolution, extending its support to Congress party candidates in the Lok Sabha elections, in the 92nd General Council Meeting of the INTUC held at Hotel VW Canyon in Raipur on Sunday. Speaking to The Hitavada, INTUC Chhattisgarh State President Sanjay Kumar Singh said that the General Council resolved to support the Congress party candidates in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government is working as an agent of capitalists and the continuity of the present government in power is harmful to the nation and need a change in the governance of the country. All eyes are now on the Congress party and its young and dynamic leader Rahul Gandhi, said Sanjay Kumar Singh.
 
 
The victory of Congress party in recent assembly elections in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh under the dynamic leadership of Rahul Gandhi is praiseworthy. The INTUC always stood in the forefront and supported the economic and political policies of the Congress party and also during election campaigns and all such calls given by the party, Singh said. The General Council of the INTUC highly appreciated and welcomed the appointment of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra as the General Secretary of All India Congress Committee with a view to strengthen the Congress party particularly in UP, he added. Several resolutions including unemployment situation in the country, resolution against anti-labour policies of the Government, MGNREGA- Now in Cross Roads, organizing informal workers, united movement of Central United Unions and wage negotiations in PSUs were passed in the meeting. Speaker of Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly Dr Charan Das Mahant inaugurated the General Council Meeting of the INTUC. Revenue Minister Jaisingh Agrawal, Excise Minister Kawasi Lakhma, MLAs Satyanarayan Sharma, Vikas Upadhyay and Vikram Mandavi addressed the meeting. They praised the works of the INTUC. INTUC National President Dr G Sanjeeva Reddy, Vice President R Chandrasekharan, Vice President Ashok Singh, INTUC Chhattisgarh State President Sanjay Kumar Singh, Chhattisgarh State Vice President Samir Pandey, Vice President P K Rai, Chhattisgarh State General Secretaries Ashish Yadav, Naresh Dewangan, Youth INTUC National President Sanjay Gaba and other office-bearers of the INTUC attended the meeting. Over 2000 members of the INTUC from various parts of the country participated in the meeting.
 
 
Dr G Sanjeeva Reddy was unanimously re-elected as the National President of the INTUC in the General Council Meeting. Chhattisgarh State President Sanjay Kumar Singh has been elected as the National Vice President while Chhattisgarh State Vice President Samir Pandey has been elected as the Member of the National Working Committee of the INTUC.
